I'm don't typically get too into electronic dance music, but I do harbor bit of a spot for Daft Punk. There songs are undeniably catchy and creative, and their whole aesthetic is very appealing. That said, until today I had never actually listened to a whole Daft Punk album. Anyway, they have a new album out, Random Access Memories, and I had read some very interesting reviews of it, for example, comparing it to 70's/80's style funk and yacht rock. Upon giving RAM a listen this morning, I'd have to say it is an apt comparison. It sounds a lot like a cross between a Hall and Oates, Sly and the Family Stone, and what you might expect from Daft Punk. At least for the time being, I'm stuck on it. Here's a listen (featuring Pharrell Williams):
yes! i've been loving this song! it's been stuck in my head all week!
