Jimi Hendrix, People, Hell and Angels

Today I made a visit to the Electric Fetus in Minneapolis, mainly to peruse CD's and buy a new pair of earings. While chit chatting about Bowie's new album with a man who works there, he had asked if I had listened to the new Jimi Hendrix album People, Hell and Angels. I hadn't even heard this was released! Among other impulse purchases, I bought the album. I love it! My favorite track, easily the best on the album, is the first track, Earth Blues:

The album is a compilation of 12 tracks, some previously unrecorded. The music is unaltered, raw studio recorded Hendrix. I feel inadequate reviewing the album myself, but an excellent review of the album can be found here at consequenceofsound.net. Lovely surprises like this make the trip to your local record store completely worth it!
