25 Best Neil Young Covers (plus one)

I love Neil Young. Just two weeks after enjoying a dynamite cover of Cinnamon Girl at AmericanaramA, I was happy to come across Consequence of Sound's article '25 Best Neil Young Covers'. The post features several favorite artists, including Bob Dylan, Cowboy Junkies, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, and Wilco. Click here to read the original article and hear the covers.

They were, however, missing a very important cover. Ever since Indigo Girls' 1200 Curfews came out, their version of 'Down By The River' has set the bar high for the quality that I judge covers. How did they miss this one? Instead they ranked Low's interpretation of the song, which did not resonate well with me (no offense, I like Low, but seriously, how can you make such an awesome, haunting, emotional song boring?!). If I were to make the list, Indigo Girls would be at the top.
