David Byrne, King of Collaboration

David Byrne is at it again. This time he has collaborated with St. Vincent. Their full length album will be out this September. The recently released track, Who, is excellent:

In my humble opinion, David Byrne can do no wrong (solo or collaborating).

Two years ago Fatboy Slim and Byrne released an interesting concept album, Here Lies Love, based on the life of the former First Lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos (see wikipedia for more information). The album features strong female performers such as Tori Amos, Sharon Jones, St. Vincent, Martha Wainwright, Santigold, and Cyndi Lauper.  Below is the track, "Why Don't You Love Me?" sung by Cyndi Lauper and Tori Amos. This song is reminicent of pop music in the 70's, and is awesome.

There was a time, once, where I thought Byrne's collaboration did go wrong ('Toe Jam" by BPA featuring Byrne and Dizzee Rascal. BPA=Fatboy Slim). It turns out that I was wrong, the song grew on me, and everytime I hear this song, I catch myself turning up the volume. I think the rapping at first turned me off, but that is honestly a part I like about the song now.

there is always Byrne with Brian Eno...

featured with Arcade Fire...

and the gratutous Talking Heads clip (from film "True Stories"):
