Decemberists/Infinite Jest

I really like the Decemberists.  There is a literary/historical/folkloric backbone to their songs and lyrics that is unlike any other band.  That said, their newest album, The King is Dead, relies much less on lyrical creativity  than previous Decemberist albums.  It is more of a standard, albeit really really good, indie-folk-rock album.

Anyway, here is a video for the Calamity Song off The King is Dead.  Apparently, the song was written after Colin Meloy, front-man for the Decemberists, read David Foster Wallace's "magnum opus" Infinite Jest. For anyone who has read the book (I am not one of those people), it will be apparent that the video is more than just inspired by the book, but actually steps right into it.  I've long meant to read Infinite Jest, but since it takes me 6 months to read pretty much anything I start, I haven't gotten around to it.  Maybe this will be the push I need.
