On a side note, I've (obviously) quit my day job, and my night job allows for time to listen to music, dance with my babies, and blog again. Sick of me yet? ;) At least I'm not blogging about Putumayo music... well, at least not yet...

Alt-J
NPR had Alt-J into their Tiny Desk office to play three songs in December 2012. I watched it because I was familiar and a fan of the first song, Tesselate. The other two songs, Something Good and Matilda, were new to me, and a joy to listen to. The song Tesselate has recieved airtime on our local station thecurrent.org. It is such a unique and poetic song, and I turn up the radio each time I hear it. Watching them perform it on Tiny Desk gives it much more depth. Alt-J is interesting to me. They can't quite be summarized like many of the other new bands you hear today. Perhaps a more concise Radiohead, their middle years? While I have only heard three of their songs, they definately grow on you.
