Have Two Hours to Spare?
I was poking around YouTube last night looking for footage from Jack White's current tour and stumbled on a jackpot (no pun intended)! This video is great, thought I have to admit I've only made it though the first hour and ten minutes so far. There are to cool studio recordings with Jack's female band to start things off. Then you are treated to a very well done full recording of a recent NYC show filmed with 13 cameras. The first set is excellent and again features the female band. There are some great White Stripes gems in there but also includes lot of great stuff from the new album... plus some Raconteurs, a cut from Rome and even some Dead Weather I believe. Great stuff. After the break Jack comes back out with his all male band and kicks things off with Sixteen Salteens. That's where I left off for tonight.
I have to add... I recently got the live Raconteurs concert DVD and was kind of disappointed by it. There are some good songs, especially in the second half of the show, but the production value is poor and Brendon Benson looks like what Beavis would look like if he wasn't a cartoon and was instead a B-level rock star. The Jack White show is 10,000 times better.
Also, there are a few weird interview clips with Gary Oldman, including the start of the video where Jack White physically assaults him for no apparent reason. I found them hard to watch and just skipped to the music.
Spin Magazine review of the show. This article has individual clips of several songs if watching the whole thing seems too daunting.
