Statesboro Blues Through the Years
The Allman Brothers have had a lot of lineups over the years. Each one different but in it's own way great. This video splices together the audio from different versions of Statesboro Blues and the animations follow along. Though the song has been around forever, that opening lick never gets old...

That is indeed one of the great blues rock songs of all times. A cool video, but the constant switching between versions gave me cognitive dissonance. I wonder how they put that together, since I can't imagine all those different versions of the song over the years were actually played in the same time.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed the "I was born in the back seat of a greyhound bus" reference toward the end.
