A Very Sufjan Christmas

So here is my annual very strong endorsement that everyone I know should run out right now and buy the Sufjan Stevens Christmas box set.  The reasons are many, and I will list them for you in a series of bullet points:

• Christmas or not, it's an awesome collection of music.  There are a bunch of really cool Sufjan originals plus all of the classics.
• Allows you to play Sufjan Stevens while in the company of your parents, grandparents and other extended family members who might otherwise be put off by your hipster tastes.
• This is one of those CD's where the packaging and extras are great.  You can get this as a digital download, but I strongly recommend buying the physical disks.
• It's an incredible bargain! 5 CD's of music and all of the cool extras for only $15 on Sufjan's website! Or if you want, you can pay a dollar extra and get it through amazon.

If you don't know the story behind these CD's, they started as an underground phenomena.  Back in the 90's Sufjan would invite hipster friends to his Brooklyn apartment each December and they would records Christmas songs.  He did this for 5 years and gave the CD's to friends.  They became popular bootlegs and finally Sufjan decided to release them.
