Yesterday my dear friend and often concert companion C gave me two burnt cds of the Wilco concert we attended October 25th, 2004. It was an incredible show, one that I will never forget. One of the more memorable moments of all the concerts I've attended came from an encore during that show. Just days before the 2004 Presidential Election, the band played an emotionally charged 'Christ for President' (from the Wilco and Billy Bragg collaboration 'Mermaid Avenue). Tweedy eloquently voiced his and the band's political views pertaining to the election and encouraged concert goers to vote carefully. Today while driving my car, I was able to relive that music memory. It was awesome. Thank you C!

As if This Blog Needed One More Reason to Love Wilco...
... well, here is one more reason! You may already be aware of Wilco's policy on sharing audio recordings of their shows, but I just learned about it. The band "supports the free trading of live recordings for non-commercial purposes.” Shows are available at ViaChicago, a Wilco fansite. The San Diego music blog Owl and Bear has organized all the available shows on their blog for easy access.
