Before the Who they were the High Numbers
If you get past the first few minutes of story telling you'll be treated to some great footage of the High Numbers featuring Pete Townsend, Roger Daltrey, Keith Moon and John Entwistle knocking out some R&B tuned for a crowd of mod London Hipsters.
Do you think Roger Daltrey was popular with the ladies back then?
It's an interesting video. For one, Daltrey is all alone up front. I read an interview with him in the last Uncut where he talks about how the Who was his band... This lends credence to that I guess. Townsend only moved to the forefront later.
They're just babies, but they're already pretty outstanding. Keith Moon can really bang out a beat, and Roger Daltrey has quite a stage presence.
